Japan lifts ban on poultry imports from Bulgaria

Japan has lifted its ban on import of poultry products from Bulgaria as of October 18, Bulgaria's Food Safety Agency said.

Japan banned poultry import from Bulgaria in 2017, amid a rise in bird flue outbreaks in the country, the Bulgarian government agency said in a press release.

After the situation improve, the Food Safety Agency immediately launched the formal process for lifting the temporary ban from Japan, the agency noted.
