Peru exported 135.5% more garlic in the first quarter

According to the Exporters Association (ADEX), in the first quarter of this year, Peruvian garlic exports amounted to $8,874,000, i.e. 135.5% more than in the same period last year.

Between January and March 2017, Peru exported garlic to 12 markets. The main destination market was the United States, which purchased $4,873,000, i.e. 56.7% of the total.

It was followed by Ecuador, Mexico, Brazil, Spain, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, and Australia, among others.

The main garlic exporting companies were Olam Agro Peru SAC, Coproimpex SAC, Comercial Liborio EIRL, White Lion Foods SAC, Agro Industrias R & B Group SAC, and QVS International SAC-

The exporter guild stressed that producers and entrepreneurs were still looking for more markets to maintain this positive trend.
