Russia expects increase in production of vegetables, fruits and berries

According to the forecast of the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia, the gross harvest of vegetables in open and protected ground in agricultural organizations and private farms will reach 6.6 million tons this year, which is about 500 thousand tons more than in 2018.

In particular, production of vegetables in winter greenhouses will be at least 1.4 million tons, which is 38.5% more than last year.

Fruits and berries yield expected at 1.4 million tons compared to 1.2 million tons in 2018. Potato production is projected at a minimum of 7.5 million tons against 7.2 million tons last year.
