Last week, at the Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky International Airport (Elizovo), the Primorsky interregional department of Rosselkhoznadzor, as part of an experiment to control the transportation of non-industrial caviar by air passengers in luggage and carry-on luggage, controlled the transportation of 4,740.7 kg of caviar without documents (a week earlier, 4,091 were transported by air passengers .4 kg of caviar).
Since the beginning of the experiment, Rosselkhoznadzor has monitored the transportation of 176,944 kg of caviar without documents.
It should be noted that last week the most non industrial caviar was transported by passengers on flights to Moscow 3,060 kg, to Vladivostok 800 kg and Novosibirsk 431.2 kg.
The amount of industrially produced caviar checked in by passengers as luggage has doubled. In particular, over the past week, 2,361.2 kg of caviar with documents were issued for flights from Kamchatka (a week earlier 1,198.4 kg).
For such caviar, a declaration of product conformity, a cash receipt or a delivery note must be provided, and the caviar must be packaged in the manufacturer’s containers with the appropriate markings.
In total, since the beginning of the experiment, Rosselkhoznadzor has monitored the air transportation of 18,955.3 kg of industrially produced caviar.
Over the past week, no cases of exceeding the established weight for transportation of caviar or other violations were recorded.
In total, since the beginning of the experiment on the transportation of non-industrial salmon caviar, Rosselkhoznadzor has identified 14 violations during the transportation of caviar weighing 376.8 kg, of which three cases occurred in August of this year.
Control over air transportation of caviar by air passengers is carried out as part of an experiment to introduce additional mechanisms for regulating domestic air transportation of non-commercially produced salmon caviar due to the large volume of movement of poached caviar under the guise of products for personal consumption.
Rosselkhoznadzor has consistently advocated for resolving this issue.
The experiment will be carried out in Kamchatka until August 1, 2025.
From November 1, 2022, one passenger is allowed to carry no more than 10 kilograms of non-industrial red caviar in checked luggage or hand luggage. Within the established weight limits, products can be transported in packaging without markings or accompanying documents. ■
