From the beginning of the year to mid-June, the volume of Tajikistan's agricultural exports increased 35.8%, or 22.4 thousand tons.

This was reported by CentralAsia citing the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Tajikistan.

As of June 16 this year, Tajikistan had exported a little over 85.1 thousand tons of agricultural products, which is 35.8% more in terms of volume, with a 44.8% increase in terms of value compared to the same period in 2019.

According to the agency, over this period, more than 68.6 thousand tons of vegetables, 7.2 thousand tons of fruits, 62 tons of melons, more than 9 tons of dried fruits and 41 tons of other agricultural products were exported.

According to EastFruit, in recent days, Tajikistan has seen a sharp collapse in the price of new onions. Producers are at a loss. They have already reduced prices to 0.5 somoni per kg (5 US cents per kg), but it remains difficult to find buyers for the onions, so further price reductions cannot be ruled out.
