Staff Writer |
American Packaging Corporation has committed to building a new manufacturing plant that will add 366 jobs by 2021 in Monroe County, N.Y., 262 of which will be permanent jobs.

The construction of the new 350,000 square foot facility on Beaver Road in the Town of Chili will create 104 construction jobs and also means that the 170 employees currently working at the company's plant in the City of Rochester will remain on the job.

"$170 million project. 350,000 square foot plant. That is a big deal and New York State is a partner in it and we're investing $14 million, between URI money, the urban initiative money, and the Excelsior Tax Credits so that $14 million will leverage $170 million.

"It will keep 170 jobs that are here now, and when all is said and done, it will create 262 new jobs and that's what it's about," said Governor Andrew M. Cuomo.
