Apple preparing reality show Planet of the Apps

Apple and have called for developers to appear in their new reality show Planet of the Apps. Participation in the show is limited to 100 app creators.

The show will follow real-life app creators as they strive to create the next killer app, meeting potential backers and tech experts along the way. According to the new casting call, the opening season will be filmed in Los Angeles, from late 2016 to early 2017.

Developers have until August 26 to apply at the website in the form of a 1-minute video. They must be over 18 and must have an iOS, MacOS, TVOS or WatchOS app in development.

The show is produced by, with producers Ben Silverman and Howard Owens, who have worked on shows such as "American Gladiator" and "The Biggest Loser".
