Australia launches investigation into AB InBev, SABMiller merger

The Australian competition watchdog launched a formal investigation into the merger between AB InBev and SABMiller.

The probe announced by the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC), will take a look at some key concerns related to the merger, including control over pub sales and the right to distribute Corona, Australia’s No.1 selling imported beer.

The watchdog gave a deadline of February 15 for submissions from interested parties and said that it would publish its final decision on April 14.
