Boeing gets $11 billion plane order from VietJet

VietJet and Boeing have finalized an order for 100 737 MAX 200 airplanes, the largest ever single commercial airplane purchase in Vietnam aviation worth $11.3 billion.

Vietjet and Pratt & Whitney of United Technologies Corp. sign an Agreement for supply of aircraft engines to power the airline’s newly order of aircraft.

Pratt & Whitney’s vice president Mary Ellen Jones said, "Vietjet is enjoying an impressive growth rate not only in Vietnam but internationally. We are very happy to be chosen as Vietjet’s supplier of aircraft engines.

"We do believe that this time agreement will continuously bring more success and development for Vietjet and ourselves. Moreover, this agreement will enable Vietjet to fulfill its business strategies in coming time."

Tran Dai Quang, President of Vietnam and U.S. President Barack Obama and both countries’ government leaders delegation witnessed the historic agreement signed by Vietjet President and CEO Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao and Boeing Commercial Airplanes President and CEO Ray Conner.
