Deutsche Telekom: 200,000 more households now have up to 100 Mbit/s

Deutsche Telekom’s network transformation is now running at full speed. An additional 200,000 households in some 50 German cities are profiting from this development.

Their surfing speed has been doubled up to a maximum 50 megabits per second (Mbit/s), with a download rate of up to 100 Mbit/s.

Uploading is also four times faster – increasing from 10 Mbit/s to as much as 40 Mbit/s. In these 50 cities the availability of 100 Mbit/s service to customers has reached 63 percent.

Hamburg leads the list with 95 percent coverage for consumers and business subscribers, followed by Cologne with 93 percent and Oberhausen with 80 percent.

And this transformation will continue: By the end of the second quarter of 2018, the number of 100-Mbit/s lines in urban areas will reach seven million.
