Direct flights resume between San Francisco and Fiji

Fiji Airways resumed its direct San Francisco — Nadi flights extending from seasonal to a year-round service following a successful year of operations.

The new year-round services sees the Fijian carrier fly between SFO and NAN increase from two to three times a week on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays during high season from June to August and December.
Fiji Airways managing director and CEO Andre Viljoen said their expansion out of SFO further sealed their position as the premier carrier for Fiji and the South Pacific.
"Our expansion out of SFO represents our position as the premier carrier for Fiji and the South Pacific, as well as being a gateway carrier to Australia and New Zealand," Mr Andre said.
"We are buoyed by the increasing demand from business, leisure and visiting friends and family (VFR) segments to the South Pacific and beyond from the San Francisco Bay Area and the greater Northwest."
San Francisco International Airport director Ivar C. Satero said they were thrilled that Fiji Airways decided to expand their year-round service.
"This move validates the strong market for nonstop flights between San Francisco and Fiji, and we are pleased that our customers can now enjoy Fiji Airways' award-winning service year-round."
Fiji Airways' San Francisco to Nadi, Fiji flight will depart 11.00 pm (local time) arriving in Nadi at 5.10am (local time, +2 days). The flight will depart Nadi at 10.15pm (local time), arriving in San Francisco at 1.45pm (local time, the same day).
Operated using Fiji Airways' A330 aircraft, 10-hour direct flights offer both economy and business class travel options. All Fiji Airways flights are full-service and include checked and carry-on baggage, in-flight entertainment, meals and alcoholic beverages. ■
