Etecsa and AT&T agree direct connection between Cuba and U.S.

The Cuban S.A. Telecommunication company (Etecsa) announced the signing of Direct Interconnection Agreement with AT&T for the exchange of international voice traffic between the two countries.

According to the note on the Etecsa website, the documents signed also include roaming voice, text and data for AT&T customers, traveling to the Antilles nation.

Those agreement will allow phone call services through direct interconnection between the two countries, noted the text.

Once the implementation period and technical proof made by operators, customers of AT&T mobile services who visit Cuba may use their cellphones in Etecsa network.
