Google probed in Ireland over location tracking

Alphabet's Google is facing a privacy probe over location tracking by the Irish Data Protection Commission.

The regulator said it's received a number of complaints across the European Union over Google's processing of location data.

"The issues raised within the concerns relate to the legality of Google's processing of location data and the transparency surrounding that processing," the regulator said in a statement.

The Irish regulator is the lead supervisory authority for Google in the EU.
