If Amazon were city it would be 12th largest in U.S.

Amazon employs 1.3 million people around the world, with 950,000 of those in the U.S., the company said in its latest earnings release.

According to the most recent U.S. employment report, there are 145.8 million nonfarm payroll workers out of a total population of 332 million. If Amazon were city it would be the 12th largest in the U.S.

That means one out of every 350 Americans works for Amazon, or one out of every 153 employed workers in the U.S.
