With a population of 1.5 million, Puebla is the fourth largest city in Mexico – and at the same time, one of the most beautiful: its historical city centre dating from the colonial era is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
In response to the increasing transport demands of the residents and tourists, Puebla is currently significantly expanding the local public transport system. The first BRT line opened back in 2013 and a tram network is currently in the planning stage.
In order to be able to provide passengers with up-to-date transport information and departure times at urban stations, the regional government of Puebla decided to introduce a modern passenger information system. IVU is initially equipping two stations with IVU.realtime. Three further stations are expected to follow.
IVU Traffic Technologies AG will be active on the Turkish market as well in future.
The Kayseri transport operator commissioned the Berlin-based IT specialist with the delivery of its standard solutions IVU.plan and IVU.crew for the planning and dispatch of vehicles and personnel for the city’s tram network.
With its roughly one million inhabitants, Kayseri is among the ten largest cities in Turkey and is one of the country’s most important industrial and trade centres.
Ever since the first line was opened in 2009, the city has continued to expand its tram network, which now spans a length of more than 34 kilometres and comprises 55 stops. In the future, Kayseri Ulaşım A.Ş. will be using IVU.plan and IVU.crew to plan and dispatch vehicle workings and duties.
IVU.plan helps the planners to create efficient vehicle workings and duty schedules. The system takes statutory and operational rules into account as well as numerous requirements such as turnaround times, break rules, duty classes and qualifications.
An intelligent suggestion system helps with the creation of suitable duties. IVU.crew also provides suggestions to help with the assignment of drivers as part of personnel dispatch and performs an automatic rule check to prevent invalid duties.
The entire system is available in Turkish. Thanks to the standardised introduction process IVU.xpress, the entire implementation will take only six months. ■
