Korea Aerospace, Airbus unit team on helicopter sales

Korea Aerospace Industries and Airbus Helicopters have signed a deal to market and distribute light military and commercial helicopters worldwide.

Korea Aerospace and the unit of Europe's Airbus Group worked together to develop the aircraft. Korea Aerospace President Ha Sung-yong said he hopes to sell more than 1,000 of the helicopters within and outside the country.

South Korean helicopters have never been exported before, the company said.

Airbus Helicopters and Korea Aerospace have partnered for more than a decade. This memorandum of understanding also affirms that they will join hands to develop new products such as helicopters for maritime operations.
