According to MAF, the employees will be laid off because the company’s contracts for two of the drilling rigs, Maersk Giant and Maersk Guardian, will end in September and October.

Additionally, a new client for the drilling rig Maersk Gallant does not want to pay for the current staff.

Maersk Drilling Norway provides drilling services to oil companies around the world and has a total of 1,300 employees working at the Norwegian drilling rigs.
