Romania: Laboratoires de Biologie Végétale Yves Rocher took over Sabon Holdings SRL

The Competition Council authorized the transaction by which the French company Laboratoires de Biologie Végétale Yves Rocher took over Sabon Holdings SRL.

Laboratoires de Biologie Végétale Yves Rocher is the parent company of the Rocher Group, present in many countries in the sector of cosmetics, textiles, clothing, household articles and nutrition (health) products. In terms of cosmetics, the Rocher Group produces and sells a wide range of cosmetics for the general public, including face and body care products, hair care, perfumes, makeup and toiletries.

The Rocher Group cosmetic products brands which are present in Romania, are Yves Rocher, Sabon, Flormar, Stanhome, Kiotis and Docteur Pierre Ricaud.

Sabon Holdings S.R.L has as main activity the cosmetic retail and the sale of household products. Sabon Romania sells only products under Sabon brand, both through the 17 stores in Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca, Galați, Ploiești, Constanța, Iași, Timișoara and Sibiu and ecommerce.

Following the analysis of this economic concentration, the Competition Council found that the notified operation does not raise significant obstacles to effective competition on the Romanian market or on a substantial part of it and that there are no serious doubts regarding its compatibility with a normal competitive environment.
