Salini Impregilo team wins €83.9m Turkish water contract

Salini Impregilo Group of Italy announced that, by means of Group unit Fisia Italimpianti, it has won a €83.9 million contract in Turkey to modernise and expand a water treatment plant in Atakoy.

The project, awarded by municipal company Istanbul Su ve Kanalizasyon Idaresi (ISKI), will be done by the Fisia Alkatas joint-venture, evenly shared by Fisia and Alkatas.

Under the terms of the EPC (engineering, procurement, construction) contract, the joint-venture will modernise an existing plant to have it treat 360,000 cubic metres of waste water per day.

They will also build a new section for the plant to treat another 260,000 cubic metres per day, 20,000 of which using a membrane system. The work is to be completed in 24 months.

The new contract allows Fisia Italimpianti, a world leader in desalination and water treatment plants based in Genoa, to develop its market position and strengthen its role in environmental sustainability.
