Salini Impregilo team wins €83.9m Turkish water contract
The project, awarded by municipal company Istanbul Su ve Kanalizasyon Idaresi (ISKI), will be done by the Fisia Alkatas joint-venture, evenly shared by Fisia and Alkatas.
Under the terms of the EPC (engineering, procurement, construction) contract, the joint-venture will modernise an existing plant to have it treat 360,000 cubic metres of waste water per day.
They will also build a new section for the plant to treat another 260,000 cubic metres per day, 20,000 of which using a membrane system. The work is to be completed in 24 months.
The new contract allows Fisia Italimpianti, a world leader in desalination and water treatment plants based in Genoa, to develop its market position and strengthen its role in environmental sustainability. ■
