Seneca Foods acquires all of Kentucky-based Truitt Bros.
Financial details were not disclosed. The existing management team will continue to operate Truitt, Seneca Foods said.
Based in Kentucky, Truitt manufactures and markets shelf-stable foods to retailers, restaurants, universities, hospitals and schools in the United States. Seneca Foods first took an ownership stake in Truitt in 2014.
“We are very excited about acquiring the remaining ownership interest in Truitt Bros.,” said Kraig Kayser, Seneca Foods president and CEO.
“For the last three years, we have worked with David (Truitt) and his team as equity partners, and we are pleased that they are remaining to lead the organization into the future.”
Seneca Foods logged $1.37 billion in revenues in fiscal 2016, which ended March 31, 2016. ■
