This will pool competencies for air and ocean freight as well as land and intermodal transport centrally at one location and create new, larger capacities for cargo.
he adjacent Vienna airport and the connection to the A4 freeway will enable both divisions to provide their customers in Austria with even better and faster transport and logistics services. Previously, DHL Global Forwarding and DHL Freight conducted their business from three locations in Vienna, which will now be merged on the new campus.
Completion of the new DHL Campus Vienna Airport is scheduled for the first quarter of 2019. Around 250 employees will then dispatch and consolidate freight at the new location.
The new warehouses and office buildings will not only meet the highest security standards (TAPA A) but will also comply with the most rigorous environmental protection requirements.
The sustainable design and use of renewable energies will directly contribute to Deutsche Post DHL Group’s goal of reducing all logistics-related emissions to zero by 2050.
In addition to alternative drives and green transport solutions, sustainable measures in the construction and modernization of Deutsche Post DHL Group sites will play an important role in achieving this goal. ■
