The harmony of the four brothers was transmitted in such way to the employees that it is more like a big family than a company. No wonder then that many employees are still working at their first jobs for more than forty years in "i4 Mariani".
Strong of the famous Italian industry post war boom, in the 1960’s, the small handicraft company changed. The production always increased, and with this, also the professional attitude and the fame. The company specialized in the production of sofas, armchairs, and upholstered chairs, following the demands of the market. At this moment, the company was mainly oriented towards the classic. But during this decade, the incentive and work of the four brothers gave birth to the first courageous models with a modern and sometimes futuristic design, called the series Andromeda or Selene.
Materials were employed that were always more sophisticated and esteemed, such as leather, and fibreglass, with the resulting creativity bringing the company its first big success. In this period , the clientele is distributed evenly throughout all of Italy, and the company begins to collaborate with the first agents and external designers. In 1964, the company participates for the first time in the International Furniture Fair in Milano, which was one of the first in Italy.
But it is in the '70s that the company reaches the great success. In 1971, it built a professional showroom in Mariano Comense with 1,600 square meters in which glass takes a major share of the architecture so that it could still look contemporary, even today. It was in the first years of this decade that the collaboration with Architect Guido Faleschini produced the Tucroma collection that had big success all over the world. Thanks to this collection in 1971, "i4 Mariani" began to export to the USA.
In a world of continuous change following the dissolution of the Soviet Union, the company attempted to be one of the first industries to participate in the 1995 Mebel Fair in Moscow. It is anticipated that this market will be one of the most important for the company in future years. In 2000, it began an important collaboration with international designers leaded by Architect Denis Santachiara to create the new and dynamic DNA upholstered Collection with a young taste.
After that, more and more great designers started to work for "i4 Mariani", creating very exciting furniture line to embellish your home or office. ■
