With the fall of the Iron Curtain the world met new and exciting Russian designers and one among the best is Valentin Yudashkin.

Valentin Yudashkin is a decorated member of the Academy of Arts of the Russian Federation and honoured with a rank of National artist of Russia. His clothes are displayed in the Louvre Museum of Clothes in Paris, the California Museum of Fashion in Los Angeles, the Metropolitan Museum in New York, the State Historical Museum in Moscow and in other museums around the World. Yudashkin is the only Russian designer to be honoured with membership of the Syndicate of High Fashion in Paris.
Yudashkin created his first collection in 1987, and he has since created more than 40 collections. Although still young, in 2003 he presented his biographical album simple entitled "Valentin Yudashkin", and an exhibition of his clothing was held in the prestigious State Historical Museum in Moscow. Since 2003 Valentin Yudashkin is a member of Camera Nazionale della moda Italiana.
"Valentin Yudashkin’s House of Fashion" is the company established in 1988, and as any true designer Yudashkin didn't stop at one field. His clothing collections comprise both haute couture and pret-a-porter, and accessories, jewellery, porcelain and sun glasses that complete the collection.
The company is famous not only in Russia but also abroad. At present the "Valentin Yudashkin" brand can be found in his boutiques in many Russian and foreign cities and interest is increasing rapidly. Yudashkin's collections have been shown during the weeks of haute couture and pret-a-porter in Paris, Milan, New York, and other cities.
But Yudashkin is not just a great designer, he is known by helping his younger colleagues. For ten years The Valentin Yudashkin’s Fashion House has participated in Russian High Fashion week in Moscow, when renowned Russian, French, and other European designers have the chance to present their collections. This event facilitates communication and cultural ties between various companies.
The Fashion House of Valentin Yudashkin and the Russian High Fashion Association actively provide Russian designers with the opportunity to showcase their collections to a wide audience. Likewise, Valentin Yudashkin has also been involved in the education program, as many students intern at the House of Fashion.
In the near future the plan is to open the first Fashion Academy, where young people can get a professional education in Fashion. The teachers of this Academy will include renowned designers, stylists with household names and international specialists from the fashion industry, including famous French designers. Judging by Yudashkin's knowledge, passion and collections, young designer will have a lot to learn. ■
