Daimler posts record Q2 sales, revenue and earnings

Group EBIT from the ongoing business improved by a substantial 54% to €3,784 million while net profit rose by 8% to €2,372 million.
Mercedes-Benz Cars had its best quarter so far for unit sales, with growth of 20% to 500,700 vehicles sold. Group revenue increased by 19% to €37.5 billion in the second quarter. Adjusted for the effects of exchange-rate changes, revenue growth amounted to 11%.
Group EBIT increased by 20% to €3,718 million. Group EBIT from the ongoing business improved by a substantial 54% to €3,784 million while net profit rose by 8% to €2,372 million.
Prior year’s second quarter’s net profit was positively affected from the remeasurement of the Tesla shares.
Net profit attributable to the shareholders of Daimler AG amounted to €2,269 million (Q2 2014: €2,104 million) and earnings per share increased to €2.12 (Q2 2014: €1.97). ■
