Facebook revenue increased 39% to $4.04 billion

Facebook reported financial results for the second quarter ended June 30, 2015. Mobile advertising revenue represented approximately 76% of advertising revenue, up from approximately 62% of advertising revenue in Q2 2014.

Facebook reported revenue of $4.04 billion for the three-month period ended June 30, compared with $2.91 billion a year earlier.

Expenses sendt Facebook’s net income down 9.1%, to $719 million, or 25 cents per share, compared with $791 million, or 30 cents a share, in the year-ago period. Excluding certain expenses, Facebook said it would have earned 50 cents per share.

Capital expenditures for the second quarter of 2015 were $549 million. Cash and cash equivalents and marketable securities were $14.13 billion at the end of the second quarter of 2015. Free cash flow for the second quarter of 2015 was $1.33 billion.

Daily active users (DAUs) were 968 million on average for June 2015, an increase of 17% year-over-year. Mobile DAUs were 844 million on average for June 2015, an increase of 29% year-over-year.

Monthly active users (MAUs) were 1.49 billion as of June 30, 2015, an increase of 13% year-over-year. Mobile MAUs were 1.31 billion as of June 30, 2015, an increase of 23% year-over-year.
