Herbalife Q1 net sales increased 1% to $1.1 billion

Herbalife reported first quarter net sales of $1.1 billion, reflecting an increase of 1% compared to the prior year period.

First quarter 2016 net sales, excluding the impact of currency, grew by 11%. Adjusted earnings for the quarter grew 5% to $1.36 per diluted share, compared to $1.29 per diluted share for the first quarter in 2015.

On a reported basis, first quarter net income of $95.8 million or $1.12 per diluted share increased by 23% and 22% respectively, compared to $78.2 million or $0.92 per diluted share for the comparable quarter in 2015.

Due to currency fluctuations, first quarter 2016 net income and diluted EPS were negatively impacted by $27.5 million and $0.322 respectively.
