Azerbaijan's economy declines 4 percent

In January-May 2016, the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) made AZN 21,512,800,000, down 4.2% from previous year.

State Statistical Committee told APA-Economics that the decline is caused by decrease in production of construction products and services relevantly compared to previous year.

At the same time, 39.8% of the value added was formed in industry, 12.8% in trade, repair of transport vehicles, 8.6% in construction, 6.6% in transport and storehouse, 3.5% in tourist accommodation and catering services, 3.2% in industry, forestry and fishery, 2% in information and communication, and 16.4% in other spheres.

New taxes to product and import made 7.7% of GDP. GDP per capita amounted to AZN 2,239.4.
