Belgium consumer confidence steady in August

Belgium's consumer confidence remained unchanged in August, survey data from the National Bank of Belgium showed.

The consumer confidence index remained unchanged at -4. A higher reading of -3 was last recorded in December. The four sub-indices showed modest changes during August.

Households were slightly less pessimistic regarding the national economic outlook in the next 12 months, but their view on the unemployment situation deteriorated.

Consumers' expectations regarding the personal financial situation in the next 12 months was unchanged, but they were less positive regarding their saving capacity.
