China's consumer price index, producer price up in February

China's consumer price index (CPI), a main gauge of inflation, rose 1.5 percent year on year in February, the National Bureau of Statistics said Saturday.

The increase was down from 1.7 percent for January.

China's producer price index, which measures costs for goods at the factory gate, edged up 0.1 percent year on year in February, the National Bureau of Statistics said Saturday.

It was unchanged from the growth recorded in January.
