Czech Republic: Industrial output skyrockets

Industrial production skyrocketed 55.1% year-on-year in working-day adjusted terms in April, which followed March’s 14.1% jump and benefited from an extremely low-base effect.

Meanwhile, the trend improved, with the annual average variation of industrial production coming in at 2.5% from March’s minus 5.0%.

On a monthly basis, industrial production rose 1.9% in seasonally-adjusted terms in April, following March’s 2.6% increase.

FocusEconomics Consensus Forecast panelists expect industrial output to expand 7.4% in 2021, which is unchanged from last month’s forecast. In 2022, they see industrial production growing 4.2%.
