Export of goods in Slovakia reached the value of 6,716.9 million euros

The total import of goods rose by 7% to EUR 6 433,3 million.
The foreign trade balance was in surplus in the value of EUR 283,6 million (by EUR 69,5 million higher than in the corresponding period last year).
In January-February 2019, compared with the corresponding period last year, the total export of goods increased by 10,5% to EUR 13 464,7 million and the total import by 7,9% to EUR 12 871,5 million.
The foreign trade balance was in surplus in the amount of EUR 593,1 million (by EUR 344,1 million higher than in the corresponding period last year).
In January-February 2019, compared with the corresponding period last year, export to the EU Member States increased by 5,9% and it represented 83,7% of the total export.
Import from the EU Member States represented 68,6% of the total import and it grew by 16,3%, year-on-year.
In January-February 2019, compared with the corresponding period last year, export to the non-EU countries increased by 42,2% and it represented 16,3% of the total export.
Import from the non-EU countries represented 31,4% of the total import and it decreased by 6,9%, year-on-year.
In the foreign trade of the SR, the most traded SITC section was Machinery and transport equipment with a share of 61,5% of the total export and 49,9% of the total import
In February 2019, after seasonal adjustment, the total export of goods reached the value of EUR 6 956,4 million with a year-on-year growth by 8,2%.
The total import of goods increased by 7,5% to EUR 6 744,4 million.
The foreign trade balance was in surplus in the amount of EUR 212,1 million (by EUR 53,2 million higher than in February 2018). ■
