France's unemployment slightly down in February

The number of French people without work was slightly down at the end of February from a month earlier, figures released by the Labor Ministry showed.

Last month, there were 3.46 million jobseekers in France. Taking into account departments overseas, the rate inched down by 0.1 percentage point, with the total number of unemployed people reaching 3.72 million, the ministry said.

On a yearly basis, the unemployment rate fell by 3.2 percent.

Young people aged between 15 and 24 reported a slight decrease. Meanwhile, the jobless claims of senior citizens also fell by 0.1 percent to 910,600, according to the ministry's report.
