Industrial production in Italy gains steam in November

All three sub-sectors grew more strongly than in the previous month: the electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning, the quarrying and mining and the manufacturing sub-sectors, with the latter swinging from contraction to growth.
On an annual basis, industrial production expanded a working-day adjusted 3.2% in November, accelerating from October’s 1.3% growth.
Annual average growth in industrial output also grew from 1.1% in October to a six-month high of 1.3% in November.
FocusEconomics Consensus Forecast panelists see industrial production growing 1.2% in 2017, which is unchanged from last month’s forecast.
For 2018, panelists expect industrial output to expand 1.0%. ■
