Industrial production up 8.8 percent in Q1 in North Macedonia

North Macedonia's industrial production rose 8.8 percent year on year in the first quarter of 2019 from a year ago, the State Statistical Office (SSO) revealed.

The data showed that in March 2019 the industrial production increased by 7.5 percent compared to that of March 2018.

According to the SSO data, in March 2019, the industrial production in the sections of mining and quarrying and manufacturing increased respectively by 10.8 and 8.8 percent, whereas in the section of electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply it decreased by 4.6 percent.

The industrial production by main industrial groupings in March 2019, in comparison with March 2018, was higher in intermediate goods.
