Italian GDP growth stalls in Q2

Italy's economy ground to a halt in the second quarter of 2016, according to preliminary data from statistics agency Istat.

GDP in the three months to June was unchanged from the previous quarter, when the economy had expanded by 0.3 percent.

On an annual basis, the Italian economy was 0.7 percent larger than in the second quarter of 2015, Istat said.
