Malaysia's foreign reserves $97.7 billion

Malaysia's central bank, Bank Negara, said Thursday that its international reserves amounted to 392.5 billion ringgit ($97.7 billion) as of September 15.

The international reserves were consisted of $89.7 billion in foreign currency reserves, $0.8 billion in International Monetary Fund (IMF) Reserves Position, $1.1 billion in Special Drawing Rights (SDRs), $1.5 billion in gold and $4.6 billion in other reserves assets.

Its reserves position is sufficient to finance 8.1 months of retained imports and is 1.2 times the short-term external debt.
