The Montblanc Worldsecond is a unique event that connects people all over the world. Using a mobile app, you and thousands of other people can capture a photo at the same split second, be a part of a global community, and win a great prize.

The Montblanc company developed a mobile application for iPhone and Android called Worldsecond that allows people around the world to shoot a photo at exactly the same moment. All photos taken that way will be uploaded to the Montblanc Worldsecond website and they will be a part of the one big mosaic. The app can be downloaded from the Mac App Store or for your Android smartphone from the Google Play Store and its' free of charge. Until the end of December 2012, sixty different Worldseconds will occur and you will know when to take a picture visiting the Montblanc Worldsecond website or via the mobile app's countdown.
In every Worldsecond you can take only one photo but, of course, the true joy is to participate in all sixty Worldseconds. So, how the app is working? Your iPhone or Androin smartphone will alert you five minutes before Worldsecond, one minute before the actual Worldsecond your smartphone will switch to camera and then is your time your subject. When the countdown reaches zero, the camera shoots a photo automatically.
There's no predefined object you should shoot, the beauty is to capture a single moment and to create the global picture of all those moments around the Earth. Be it a landscape, a portrait or your finger (you author is known by his fingers covering a half of the image but, hey, nobody's perfect), your photo will contribute to a truly unique global event.
We must say that your photos will be uploaded with your permission, so in this era of privacy problems you have full control do you like your photo to be seen by the world. Photos will be archived in the app' Explore area the Montblanc Worldsecond website. Anyone who views the website or uses the Worldsecond app may see your photos there. Of course, you can delete any of your photos at will.
You can view photos from recent Worldseconds and share them on your favorite social network, view your friends' photos and invite friends to join you in this great event that connects people from all parts of the world. To participate, you need to log in with your Facebook or Weibo account, so expect to see a lot of Chinese friends there.
When you create a gallery, you will automatically be in the contest for the best Worldsecond gallery and with each gallery you create you have the chance to win a prize: the photographer of the best Montblanc Worldsecond photo will get a Montblanc TimeWalker TwinFly and the one who creates the best gallery will receive a Montblanc TimeWalker ChronoVoyager UTC. ■
