5.0 magnitude earthquake hits central Croatia

A new strong earthquake was felt around 6 pm in the area of central Croatia.

The magnitude was 5.0. According to the first data, the epicenter was about 45 kilometers southeast of Zagreb, in the area of Petrinja, near Strasnik. There was a report that the earthquake lasted for 10 seconds.

Social media users report that the earthquake was felt in neighboring Slovenia and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Previous strong earthquake shifted the city of Sisak eastward by about 10 centimetres, and Petrinja shifted between 15 and 20 centimetres eastward, the Jutarnji List daily reported on Wednesday.
