5.3 magnitude earthquake reported on Peru-Ecuador border

A 5.3-magnitude earthquake has hit the Peru-Ecuador border region, the United States Geological Survey (USGS) reported.

According to preliminary information, the epicentre of Saturday's earthquake was located at a depth of 71 kilometres.

So far, there have been no reports about any damage or casualties caused by the tremor.
