5.8 magnitude earthquake rocks Indonesia

An earthquake with a seismic energy of 5.8 magnitude rocked Buol, Central Sulawesi on February 23, 2021.

As stated in the official website of the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG), the earthquake occurred at 02:22:09 West Indonesia Time.

The epicenter of the earthquake was in the sea, 90 kilometers northeast of Buol, with a depth of 10 kilometers.

Based on its strength, the earthquake had a scale of IV MMI in Buol, and III MMI in Bone Bolango and Toli-Toli.
