657 drug packages seized in Dominican Republic

The National Drug Control Directorate, with the support of Dominican Navy, intelligence agencies and coordinated by the Public Ministry on Tuesday seized 675 packages of cocaine.

The seizure took place close to the coast of San Pedro de Macorís province, as authorities intercepted a speedboat stemming from South America.

3 Dominicans and 1 Venezuelan were arrested, while other members who tried to introduce the cocaine packages in Dominican territory were also detained.

Plus, 15 fuel cylinders, 2 outboard motors, radio navigation equipment and a nine millimeter pistol, with one magazine and 5 capsules were also seized.
