After Colonial Pipeline DarkSide hacked Toshiba France

NHK has learned that the hacker group believed to be behind the cyberattack on Colonial Pipeline is claiming to have also attacked a Toshiba entity in France.

Toshiba is investigating the facts and confirmed the attack to Reuters.

A Japanese information security firm, Mitsui Bussan Secure Directions, says Russia-based DarkSide made the claim on a site it set up on the dark web shortly after 1 a.m. on Friday, Japan time.

In a statement on the site, the group said it hacked into the system of a Toshiba entity in France and stole confidential information.

The group claims it stole over 740 gigabytes of data that includes information on management, new businesses and personal data.
