The eighth stage of the "Decommissioned Books" project will start on June 17. The list of more than 223,000 publications will be published on the campaign portal https://knigi.bibliogorod.ru/. To get your favorite copy, you need to book it online and pick it up for free for three days. When visiting the library, it is necessary to observe measures to prevent the spread of coronavirus infection - to be wearing a mask and gloves.
Muscovites are offered to take home the artistic works of domestic and foreign classics. These are works by Frederick Stendhal "Vanin Vanini" and "Red and Black", novels by Theodore Dreiser "American Tragedy" and "The Financier", the novel "The End of Eternity" by the science fiction writer Isaac Asimov, the chosen lyricist george Byron and many other books.
Works for children and teenagers are also available for booking. Among them are a collection of fables by Ivan Krylov, the fairy tale "The Nutcracker and the Mouse King" by Ernst Hoffmann, poems by Kornei Chukovsky and Samuel Marshak, stories by Leo Kassil and Victor Dragunsky.
In addition to works of fiction, the lists of libraries include books on the history of Russia and world history, scientific, technical and professional literature, publications on literature, painting, film art. Also, citizens are invited to pick up periodicals and music editions.
Of the 223,000 books presented on the portal, more than 5,500 will be included in the so-called exchange fund, which will be available only to legal entities. These are public and commercial organizations, as well as state institutions, such as libraries, theatres and houses of culture.
With the help of the fund, some readers will be able to give away unnecessary copies, while others will be able to receive the books they need. The priority in choosing books will be at state institutions and cultural institutions. Three months after the start of the new phase of the project, the remaining editions will be available to commercial enterprises as well.
To participate in the project, the reader needs to register on the "Decommissioned Books" portal, select the right copy and book it. You can search for the book by author, name, type of publication, library address and thematic sections.
This is useful if, for example, only the periodical is interesting or you need a brochure. You can book no more than 10 copies a day.
After a while, the user will receive a message about the readiness of the order by email and in the personal office of the portal. The operation of the armor is three days, you can extend it twice. During this time, you need to come to the library for books.
Legal entities must be registered on a separate portal. This will require the introduction of the name of the organization, INN, OGRN and provide contact details. Once the application is submitted, the information will be processed within three days. In case of a positive result, the organization will receive an email with a login and password for the personal office on the portal. For organizations, the maximum order per day is 100 books. They must be picked up within 14 calendar days after the booking has been confirmed.
Specialists of Moscow reading regularly conduct an audit of book funds. They assess which publications need to be replaced and write them off to buy new ones. Rareness and book innovations are not subject to write-off. The library's dilapidated, double-double (repetitive) copies, as well as the library books unclaimed by readers, are ready to donate to citizens and organizations. These are mainly works of domestic and foreign fiction, non-fiction and non-fiction editions, as well as periodicals of different years. ■
