The guns were of different makes and models, Dimitar Petrov, head of the Specialized Prosecutor's Office, said at a press conference.

Authorities also seized a large amount of ammunition, silencers, and bulletproof vests, Petrov said.

Two of the arrested were Bulgarians, and the other was a British citizen who was wanted on a European arrest warrant, Petrov added.

Ivaylo Spiridonov, head of the Bulgarian Chief Directorate for Combating Organized Crime, said that the purity of the heroin was about 40 percent.

The number of the cartridges was more than 2,000. In general, each of the weapons was bundled with a box of ammunition, Spiridonov said.

The investigation is ongoing.
