Dominicans seize 264 drug packages

The National Drug Control Directorate (DNCD) along with the Dominican Navy, seized 264 packages of alleged cocaine in a vessel from South America.

According to the DNCD, three people, one Dominican and three Colombians were detained in the operation, which are investigated by the corresponding organizations.

As part of Hispaniola island, which it shares with Haiti, the Dominican Republic is the victim of drug trafficking mainly between Europe and the United States, the largest consumer of these products in the world.
