There are so far no reports of injury.

A fire has engulfed about 40 lorry trailers at a household appliance factory in Peterborough, sending a huge plume of smoke into the sky.

Photos circulating online showed thick smoke in the sky at Hotpoint warehouse, Shrewsbury Avenue in Peterborough, a cathedral city in Cambridgeshire.

And there were reports of explosions being heard since the fire started around 7:00 p.m. local time.

Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service said eight crews and 40 firefighters were tackling the blaze.

It advised people to avoid the area and local residents keep their windows and doors closed.
