FlyBe makes emergency landing in Manchester after loud bang and smoke

A FlyBe flight (BE817) to the Isle of Man with 38 passengers onboard has made an emergency landing at Manchester Airport.

The Dash8 aircraft was only minutes in to the flight yesterday afternoon (Wednesday) when the Captain shut down an engine and returned to Manchester.

One passenger told Energy FM News they heard a loud bang and smoke came in to the cabin. They said that some passengers were crying and were clearly distressed as the incident was incredibly frightening.

Emergency Services scrambled as the aircraft approached Manchester - It landed safely and passengers disembarked normally.
