This is the penultimate level of surveillance, only surpassed by red alert, which forces the population to be attentive to the situation in Ain, Doubs, Jura, Loire, Rhone and Haute-Savoie.

The entity also issued yellow alert, which asks people to be vigilant, about 20 departments from France's center and east for the new heat wave or storms of the season.

Meteo France predicted that the high temperatures will not exceed the weekend nor should reach the level of the recent heat.

In late June, Europe was hit by a wave of heat from the Sahara causing historical records and surpassing 44 and 45 degrees Celsius in southern departments.
