Investigation: Serious aviation incident at Maersk Invincible, Valhall oilfield

On 24 February 2020, a Sikorsky S-92A helicopter with nine passengers on board lost significant altitude shortly after departure from the jack-up oil installation Maersk Invincible, according to Accident Investigation Board Norway.

There was bad weather with night conditions, heavy rain, wind and reduced visibility when the aviation incident occurred.

At low altitude, the pilots regained control and established a controlled and stable flight before heading towards the destination Stavanger Airport Sola.
