Magnitude 5 earthquake jolts Batangas, Philippines

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) afternoon raised to magnitude 5 the earthquake that struck Batangas, saying that several small aftershocks may be felt in some areas.

The tremor happened 9 kilometers southwest of Mabini 1:25 in the afternoon, according to Phivolcs.

An aftershock of magnitude 2.3 was already recorded around 1:27 in Mabini, Phivolcs said in an interview on Teleradyo.
